Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
Hi , Just found this group ! Thanks for having me. Looking at the names on here I’ve bought and sold to most of you I reckon. have you still got the fresh air deck as I may be interested
Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
Welcome aboard I think he sold it a bit back , what sort of stuff are you into
Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
Not really got a preference just 70s stuff in general, I do like the wider pig boards of the late 70s though but I haven’t got any OG ones just reissues or tributes. I am lucky enough to have one of the Ben Liddle reissues which I built up recently and it’s great.Just whatever takes my fancy I suppose. I buy and sell stuff mainly to fund my own collection.
Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
Yes I got one of the reissues so that’s 2 out of the 10 accounted for , I sell a few bits sometimes usually to fund something else but nowadays there’s not much to buy really whereas a few years back there was loads available and it wasn’t dear but now even junk stuff people ask Brewsters for it
Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
Yeah I’ve been collecting around 8 years or so and since covid prices have shot up, I remember picking nos trackers up for £50-£60 whilst now ure looking 3 times that or more. I never had out descent as a kid just a Makaha poly prop which upgraded for a plywood deck. Kryptonics were a pipe dream on 10p a week pocket money.
Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
Another Ben Liddell signature deck made by logos this was the connoisseur , made and distributed by logos of elsworthy road London ,

Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
Totally, the originals had a rocker with a kinda hook tail, no concave (obvs!), they were also pressed from three sheets of three ply birch, each one 4mm thick.
The remakes/reissues look like 7 ply maple?

This one has been on eBay for years, looks the right shape for the model he describes it as but is asking too much imo as ironically it has no top logo where they stickers or screened ?

I did see another on eBay a few years ago that had the top logo it went for “Benjy” sort of money , pretty sure I saved the photos at the time.
Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
Yep it’s very “benjyesque” that Steve especially round the wheel wells , as you say the prices don’t add up wheels let’s say 40 quid ,trucks 50 to 70 quid meaning decks well over 300 for a essentially interesting but a no name deck so too expensive really for the market
Re: Ben Liddell Fresh Air Decks
I see, looks like the Logos deck was also made of birch ply, those dark glue lines and alternate ply directions give it away.
Arrow (another company from Wolverhampton) also used birch, I might have to start a new thread for that one!
