Re: Skateboard related chat
when i first started skating around 13yrs old there was an older guy, probably early twenties and he must have had a job as he had the best of everything, fibreflex, gold gullwings,1st gen green kryps and all the rector gear and kanoa helmet etc[we were all jealous as hell lol] the only thing was that he had no idea how to skate, such a waste of all that gear, and there was me on my little grentec coyote double kicktail,my first real board as before that it was the usual old rollerskate with metal wheels nailed to a piece of wood,so what was your first proper set up?

yes i think i had a surf flyer and a yellow plastic deck with red wheels im sure it was a brand mustang
Re: Skateboard related chat
a friend had a surf flyer,i remember pushing like mad and travelling about 6 foot lol,you couldnt keep me off it though as it was so much better than my home made rollerskate special but then i got the coyote and ended up fitting big reds and it was transformed! after that i started to get serious and saved up for better boards, ive actually got a couple of nos coyotes ,dont know why but must be for the memories back then ,the good thing is that they didnt cost much more than they did 45 years ago
Re: Skateboard related chat

i was reading about a french guy that used to skate for benjy and copied this bit "And on banks and vert, Alexis has his own model Benjyboard, a 30x 9 1/2 maple laminate with the tail as wide as the nose ". presume it must have been a one off as ive never heard of a alexis whatever his name was model

Alex le Pasteur
I believe he was signed up after Benjys promo trip to Paris
Judging by the measurements his model was a re stickered Sablosky board for the French market
Pretty good idea really.
It certainly looks like a Sablosky in the first photo
