Amazing the stuff we hang onto, and yet sometimes the stuff we’ve let go we wish we hadn’t 😜

What’s the view to the following listing?

Well I too had my doubts regarding the deck, but I’ve been on the look out for a singular Energy base plate for ages….
Anyone on here help?
I’ve noticed they produced in raw and painted?

Got this other week mark 2 Henderson survivor , it’s been aerosolled in the past and nose has been trimmed a bit but still a rare board , I’m going to get the paint of the grip tape and either wax or lightly varnish the underside , I don’t mind them rough and ready gives them a bit of character

Lent them on the strokers just to see as well :D

Benjy Whitelightening Question

Were they all wedge tails, I have my 28.5 oddity listed on eBay at the minute and another Ebayer has pointed out it’s a not a wedge tail. I’m no expert on wood or wood grain but this one looks more like it was cut that shape rather than a warp til

I have only ever had 27’s never a 30” so interested in other owners opinions, I have amended the listing in the mean time.

When I bought this one I was down to my last 2 27” and it was to my eye identical I can recall at least one of the 27” was a wedge tail but can’t at the moment get in to my old photo site.

Tail and wheel well sizes etc were spot on I believed it was just undrilled and unfinished

To me it’s either 2 things it’s either a 30 which has had tail damage and been trimmed down or like you say maybe a hobie or similar which is of virtually same design , my own feeling is that it’s not a benjy as the wood doesn’t seem as good and the wheel wells are a little offset to each other and whereas the one you have at side for comparison is really symmetrical at either side if you know what I mean and the wheel wells aren’t as well finished off but maybe it’s a benjy Friday afternoon one

I’m not 100% sure either, I own both the 27” & 30” and both examples have the kicktail spliced into the deck, effectively 2 separate piece’s!

Will post pictures later for comparison and discussion.

yes the benjy has the top piece of the tail cut and glued in place as a seperate part to create the kick, you can easily see the joint on them
