Lesser or unknown British skateboard decks of the 1970s
Not sure what this one is it’s similar to a benjy but wrong shape but wheel wells are same as white lightning , also similar to a Thompson but bands of wood are a lot wide the stripes sort of speak
Re: Lesser or unknown British skateboard decks of the 1970s
a lot of the old wooden decks were quite well made back then, they didnt just use a jigsaw to cut out a lump of ply that one looks a good old solid deck
Re: Lesser or unknown British skateboard decks of the 1970s
Yes I suspect this is a homemade deck

Was just discussing the Topless Olympic ads with my Mrs yesterday how did they ever get away with that in what was basically a kids magazine, good photoshopping for the the era though, unless they made really big skateboards

Yellow birds are a poor man’s G&S rollerballs, and Twin Birds a poor man’s Emotions although they did get a good write up in Skateboard!

Re: Lesser or unknown British skateboard decks of the 1970s
ive seen the ads but cant say ive ever seen a board for real before,it always amazes me how many little companies there were producing stuff all in the uk that presumably went back to their proper job manufacturing what ever once the boom was over
