Truck Polishing

Post by Itsonlymoney!!! »

Anybody tried polishing trucks ?

I’m looking advice on what to use etc, I have dremmel style thing from the centre isle a Lidl but think I might need a bench mounted one ?

I enquired about getting it done commercially but the cost was prohibitive.

ive done quite a bit over the yrs,i use 4" mops in my drill mounted in a vice,a proper bench polisher is easiest but then its more expense, you can get a kit of polishing mops with diff cutting compounds,a basic kit should manage trucks easily enough,i try not to do any at all nowadays as its a filthy job  just beware the metal can get very hot as you work the piece and also hold on tight as its easy for a part to get thrown across the floor and end up with more marks to polish out ,deffo worth wearing all the safety gear,i also used to wear a hat to try and keep the filth off me as much as poss :D
